New consultation: Draft Energy Efficiency Regulations

The Scottish Government is consulting on the Draft Energy Efficiency (Domestic Private Rented Property) (Scotland) Regulations. The consultation is live until Friday 29 August.

These regulations would mean all privately rented properties, as far as possible, reaching reformed EPC Heat Retention Rating band C from 2028 for new tenancies, and by 2033 for all privately rented homes. The primary aims of the regulations are to improve PRS homes, reduce energy costs for tenants and support aims to reduce fuel poverty.

During the consultation period, the Scottish Government is holding various stakeholder workshops to gain feedback and discuss proposals in more detail. These sessions will provide an overview of the proposed regulations, including the proposed timescales for implementation and the rationale for proposals. The session will also provide time for discussion, allowing attendees to share their views.
