Offer extended - Discounted training for LPS Scotland customers!

Henry Franklin April 18, 2018

Did you know it’s now compulsory for lettings and property management agents operating in Scotland to belong to a new register of letting agents?

Who needs to apply and when?

Key individuals in each agency working in a supervisory role must be registered. They must also meet a minimum level of training. Agents have until 1 October 2018 to apply to join the register.

How can I get the qualifications I need?

A number of companies provide training that meets the standard approved by the Scottish Government. The qualifications cover essential aspects of letting agency work at, or at the equivalent of, Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) level 6 or above.

You can read more about registration, the training requirements, and approved providers on the Government’s website.

Discounted training for LPSS customers!

One of the approved training providers, the National Approved Letting Scheme (NALS), is offering an exclusive discount for our customers who take their Foundation Lettings Course (Scotland).

How does it work?

This course is the only one that’s completely online amongst the training offerings on the Scottish Gov website, and comprises of three modules with a final test. It’s accredited by the Northern Council for Education (NCFE), a national awarding organisation, and candidates who successfully complete the course will be awarded an NCFE certificate*.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the course is normally £300 for customers not currently members of NALS. However, for one month they’re offering LPSS customers their member rate of £240!

How do I apply?

The offer is available until 31 May 2018. To take advantage of the discounted rate, you’ll need to:

>       Create a free account on their learning platform here

>       Click ‘ENROL ME’ to access the ‘course information’ here

>       Download an enrolment form from the ‘Apply for the Foundation Lettings course’ section

>       Send in your enrolment form by 30 April 2018

>       Quote the discount code ‘NALS/LPSS Offer’ and your LPSS membership/ID number on the form in the NALS License Number section

To find out more about the course or the qualification, you can contact NALS Head of Learning, Jane Moore at cpd@nalscheme.co.uk.

Kind regards

The LPS Scotland team

*Offer terms and conditions:

1. To be eligible for the reduced rate, you must work for a letting agency that’s an active LPS Scotland customer.

2. The discounted rate is available between 1 April and 30 April 2018. You must submit your enrolment form by 30 April 2018 to qualify for the lower rate. You don’t have to have completed your course in this timescale.

3. The cost for the training is £240 including VAT. Access to the online training will be granted once payment has been received by NALS.

Existing NALS members are already able to access the training for £240. No further discount is available.
